Blu-ray Copy Guide

Step1. Blu-ray Copy allows you to copy DVD/ Blu-ray movie either from disc, folder or ISO image file to blank disc, folder and ISO file.

Copy movie from disc:

Ensure there is enough free space on your hard drive for temporary files(buffer cache) before burning a DVD/ Blu-ray movie to a blank disc. The temporary folder will takes up as much space as the source contents do. There should be 5G of free space for this temporary folder when your have DVD 5 as source, and 25G of free space if when you have BD-R single layer disc as source. Note that Leawo Blu-ray Copy can not compress the files so never try burning DVD 9 to DVD 5 or Blu-ray movie to DVD.

Copy movie from folder:

Click "Source", select "Blu-ray/ DVD Folder" from drop-down list and browse to the source folder where you would like to save the movie, then click "OK" to load sources. The source folder should contain complete contents of a movie disc, incomplete file could leads to failure copy.

Copy movie from ISO file:

Click "Source", select "Image File (ISO)" from drop-down list and browse to the location of ISO file, then click "OK" to load sources. The input ISO file is limited to DVD ISO file only, Blu-ray ISO file is not currently supported. Bly-ray IFO file is not currently supported.

Tip: Setting temporary file is essential only when you copy from disc. While copying movie from folder/ ISO file, you could leave it out.

 

Setp2. After the movie is loaded, it is time to select a output target. Leawo Blu-ray Copy allows you to copy DVD/ Blu-ray movie to blank disc, folder and ISO file.


Burn movie to blank disc:



Put a blank DVD/ Blu-ray disc into your Blu-ray writer, click "Target" bar and select the writer from drop-down list. The capacity of target disc should be more than or at least equal with the source disc. The compacity of You target disc could be observed in Disc Size area. A popup window will reminds you to change a target disc in case that the disc inserted have not enough space to save source files.

Generate movie folder:

Click "Target" bar and select "Blu-ray/ DVD Folder" from drop-down list. Then follow the popup window to specify the destination folder for saving generated movie. You could back up the movie on your computer for playback or burn the folders to discs whenever you like. DVD and Blu-ray discs usually take up much space, so before starting you'd better make sure that there is enough space to save the copy.

Create ISO image file:

Click "Target" bar and select "Image File (*.ISO)" from drop-down list. A "Save As" dialog box will pop up for you to select a directory to save created ISO image file. You can later burn ISO image file to disc or save the movie as a single image file.

Step3.

When everything is ready, click the Start button to start copying Blu-ray and DVD movie to target disc or location. Here we will show you the process of copying Blu-ray disc to Blu-ray disc. Insert a target disc when the program reminds you to insert blank disc.The Blu-ray Copy will first copy Blu-ray data to Work space and then burn copied movie onto the target disc. You could check the temporary data when the progress bar shows that 50% is done. Here is an example:

 

Wait till the copying process completed and you will be able to playback and transmit the movie freely. Copying Blu-ray movie is time-consuming, and we advise you to set auto shutdown under Options menu.

If you would like to quit copying, just click stop button .
